Double Eagle
[edit]Actually in this case the march is called "double eagle" just indirectly because of the coat of arms of austria(-hungary). The story is, that it was written in an inn which was called "Zum Doppeladler" (the Double-eagle). Eromae (talk) 00:17, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TRUE! THE COMPOSER OF THIS POWERFUL MARCH WAS MY GRANDFATHER, FRANCIS J. WAGNER. HE IS THE FATHER OF ROGER WAGNER OF THE WORLD FAMOUS ROGER WAGNER CHORALE. UNCLE ROGER DIED IN 1992. IT'S A BIG PART OF OUR FAMILY HISTORY SO I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. PERHAPS THE PERSON TAKING THE CREDIT IS THE PERSON HE SOLD IT TO FOR "PEANUTS" SO TO SPEAK, ACCORDING TO MY MOTHER...HIS DAUGHTER. THANK YOU, MARY L.VOLK HAMMERGREN. hammcks@aol.com |

Date of composition
[edit]In the second paragraph on this page the date of composition for 'Under the Double Eagle' is given as 1893 but on the Wikipedia page for 'Under the Double Eagle' it is given as 1902. Try hovering over the 'Unter dem Doppeladler' link in the second paragraph of this page to see the contradiction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.113.68.90 (talk) 11:53, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
